A New Guaiane Type Sesquiterpene from Torilis japonica

Abstract

|
A new guaiane type sesquiterpene was isolated from the fruit of Torilis japonica (Umbelliferae). Based on NMR, IR and mass spectroscopy its structure was confirmed as dea ngeloyloxy torilin, 1β, 7α, 10αH-11-acetoxy-guaia-4-en-3-one (1). This is the first report showing that this compound can be isolated from Torilis japonica.
